My dad has a 1964 4020 Diesel Powershift. It's a great tractor, but it leaks oil from the rear end. I'm pretty sure it's not a rear main. We pull a thirty-foot Great Plains drill with it. If we pull it hard, and believe me that drill gives it a workout, it will quit leaking. But as soon as it sits for a while, and just idles around the farm, it starts leaking. Are there seals in the rear end that dry up and cause it to leak. Thanks for any help.

Is the leak from the rear end of the engine or of the tractor? What type oil is leaking, engine or transmission? Does it leak when it isn't running? Which oil level drops? Need more information to help ya out much.

The oil leaks from the rear end of the tractor. It's transmission fluid, and it leaks when it isn't running as well.
