BEFORE YOU START TO WORK ON THIS... BE SAFE!!! Be sure both battery (+) cables are disconnected, and the tractor is in PARK, and no one is near any potential moving parts, including the fan, fan belt and alternator/generator. Do you have the two circuit breakers mounted on a metal plate next to the starter solenoid? With the conversion, BOTH short wires from these circuit breakers will go to the 12V+ stud on the starter solenoid along with BOTH (+) battery cables. The (-) terminals of BOTH batteries will be connected to the tractor frame. The yellow wire from the harness goes to the "S" terminal on the starter solenoid. THERE IS A HARNESS INVOLVED WITH THE YELLOW WIRE THAT CONNECTS TO THE NEUTRAL START SWITCH. Make sure you have a working switch, and that it is wired into the wire to the solenoid on the starter so the tractor CANNOT START IN GEAR. If you still have the 24V generator or alternator installed, disconnect ALL leads, and tape them up to prevent shorts when the battery is hooked up. You should now be able to hook up the (+) cables to the batteries, and the starter should work. Best to were safety goggles when working around batteries. What alternator or generator are you going to use? That info is needed to determine how to hook up the alternator.
