Here's the scoop, I have a Goodison threshing machine, that has been stored inside for over 50 years and I would like to get rid of it. I offered it to an Agricultural Museum and they were interested but had already collected three Goodison machines and thus did not require a fourth. The machine is complete and has all the belts( keep in mind the belts are the age of the machine),they appear workable. The machine has been upstairs in our barn since my earliest recollection and I'm 56. If you or your heritage organization are looking for collectable threshing machines, I am willing to donate it free of charge. Goodisons were made in Sarnia Ontario and sold throughout Michigan, Ohio and Ontario I would have to check the model number but this was the mid sized Goodison built around 1922. I fed many a sheith of grain through it and my dad used it way into the 60's. This machine is too good to be cut up and taken to the scrap metal dealers but I need the space and time will take its toll if it isn't soon rescued. You can e-mail me if you are interested ...Mike in Exeter Ontario

Mike, I'd be interested, but I know next to nothing about threshing machines. How Big is it? Would it fit in the back of a pick-up or on a flat-bed trailer? Is it on wheels? How do we get it out of your barn and loaded? Etc... E-mail me with info (pictures?). Thanks Doc E. (in southern Ohio)

Doc, and anyone else interested, this machine is on steel wheels and would weigh in at around three tons. You would need a flat bed truck or a large machinery float to move it. It would take up 20' in length. From southern Ohio come up I-75 to Detroit, take I-94 to Port Huron, cross to Sarnia, take 402 east to 21 north and you will come to Grand Bend, turn right to Exeter...about two and a half hours from Detroit. I would suggest that you make a weekend holiday and drive up to see it, then you will know what you are dealing with and what you would need to move it. It will come out of the barn easily and can be pulled or winched onto a flat bed. I can have it ready to load at a day's notice. Any one else interested is welcome to come and see it, just e-mail me to make arrangements. Thanks Doc....mike in Exeter Ontario
