Allis Chalmers Twin Wheel mower
I recently purchased an Allis Chalmers twin wheel mower. It is a pull type with 7 ft sickle. The sickle bar attaches to the mower with a small coupling with serrated teeth. The coupling is approximately 1-1/2” in diameter and 1-1/2” long. A ½” fine thread bolt attaches the coupling to the sickle. While mowing the bolt worked out and the coupling fell out. I managed to find the coupling. Does anyone know the part number for this coupling? I would like to find a spare. Also how tight should the ring around the coupling which attaches to the gear box be? How do you keep the bolt from working loose, threadlock, lock washer, or is there another method?
Thanks for your help.

Had the same problem myself, except the bolt completely broke on mine. This particular model was put back together with a standard fine threaded bolt with a large washer and also a lock washer. It has held for two years and does well in cutting hay and thistles. Was able to get a new bar and other replacements parts from LANGDIESEL,INC.
