Can someone out there help me? My Super 66 is putting out some banana shaped bales. I have seen the previous discussion about that. my wad board goes in to the main chamber and is adjusted to stop 3.5" from the far wall. That is what the book says and what was talked about in the previous discussion. I am wondering if I am getting too much material on the far side of the chamber? the far side of the bale ( not the cutter side) is fuzzy. The cutters are working fine, very good sharp side on that part of the bale. Any thoughts? when the bale fist comes out it looks good, then the one side of the bale starts to look fuzzy, like the hay is not folded into the bale correctly. But instead is just folded tight to the outside of the bale until it gets out of the chamber. Then springs to life. Like a fuzzy headed bale.

Thanks, Ted

There should be enough information in that owners manual to get things working, if everything is all there and working properly then there should be no problem, if it should start to not tie check the wood slides on the plunger, this could also cause some ov your problem if they are worn, if it should get to not wanting to feed in check the little spring on the inside of the wadboard, problem in this area could also agrivate your problem, if you don't have the parts book get one

Oh don't get another baler. If the bales are long on the left side jump the chain that moves the wadboard back a tooth or two so the wadboard does not go in all the way and make sure that you have some hay wedges in the chamber with the same on each side. Hope this helps

i had a 66 many years ago and really liked the baler,if your windrows are small and you are baling short soft grass hay you will get the old bannana bale.try doubling up your windrows, slow your rpm's down some and shift up a gear to get more hay into the chamber.if windrow size isn't the problem check you hay dogs, they should be free and up to hold the hay in place until the next stroke. to bale shot soft grass hay with my mf #12 baler i had to put hay shims in to keep the bales from being pushed out the back to fast, good luck and happy baling mike

Does not seem to matter if it is tall or short hay. The majority of my hay is in the 24" range. It really seems that I am getting too much hay on that side of the baler. If I could just get this fixed It would be great. The notters are working fine, the pick up, all but this strange bale problem. I cant even use my bale wagon to pick them up, they all break apart when going up the pick up. I really need to find a fix for this, or have to get another baler.
