I'm going to my first farm equipment auction this weekend. Local equipment dealer has one every spring and I've been told there will be two of EVERYTHING available. I hope to walk out of there with a two bottom plow and a disc harrow to use behind my NAA. Anyone have any tips on what to look for or what to stay away from.

On plows, look at the points and shins (if so equipped) If they're really worn (and they usually are) they can be hard to find, depending on the make and size of the plow.

On disk harrows, look at bearing housings for cracks and wear, bearings for wear, and disk diameter. Same deal, disk bearings are usually shot from lack of grease and the miserable environment they have to live in, and can be a beast to find, again, depending on the age and make of the disk.
