Thinking about buying an AGRIC tiller for my ford 640. It seems OK, but I haven't heard of the brand and the guy selling it isn't much help. Can anyone tell me if this brand is reliable?

Ken, I'm not familiar with the brand, although it's common thing for these to be imported and then labeled with different mfg.'s names. Look for a tiller with gear drive versus chain driven ones. Also the hitch option that will allow you to offset to one side is a plus. Make sure of parts availablity, especially tines, you don't want to buy something you can't get parts for.

I purchased an Agric model AFMJ-65 (65 inches wide)about 8 years ago, I have found it to be a very well designed and built Tiller, I would purchase another one if I had a need, Be sure and get the slip-clutch option on the PTO (about $85.00), so that if you hit a stone or other solid object you do not rip the machine apart,If I knew where you live I could direct you to a regional distributor, so you could check on parts availability.
