any info on a JD swath fluffer would be a big help. I would like to find on to use and restore. I think it would work well in burmuda horse hay.

The hay does have a tendency to wrap a little sometimes. Having a wide swath makes it seem to do better though. Yes, you do have travel fast with it so, having a smooth hayfield is a must. I pull our #2 with a light 40 Deere and get along fine. I use it most in alfalfa and alfalfa-timothy-orchardgrass mixed hay. Tines can be had through our local Deere dealer. Several of these in use in our area (extreme eastern IN,west-central OH)so dealer keeps them in stock.
Newer model 3 was made. Different wheel settings with a hand crank was major difference.

I wouldn't bother. My grandfather bought one new, and it never worked right. It's too light to get traction, so it skips and bunches the hay instead of fluffing it. The stripper bars are too far apart, letting the tines wrap up. You have to pull it across the field in road gear. I still have the thing sitting out in the fence row, but many of the tines are broken, and I don't think they're still available.
