I'm trying to build one of those boom-type sprayers that you mount onto an ATV. I have a 25-gallon sprayer and hand-held wand but would like to add a 7-foot wide sprayer boom to it. I know you can buy them for around $100 but I was told by someone that I could build one for around $20 in material. Have any of you folks made one of these or know where I can get plans or help? Thanks.

I would like to build an atv sprayer to spray fence rows,I don't need a boom just a wand.Any suggestions where to find the pump unit cheap?
P.S. I think the channel with the holes in it that Jon mentioned is called uni-strut.

We built one that is about 6 or 7 feet wide. we used a light channel, the kind with all the holes in it. I can't think of the name right off hand. We made it so it folds up to the width of the atv. We just put nozzles on and plumbed it into the pump with a valve to open or close so we can use the booms, or the wand. Works pretty slick. If you want any more details e-mail me and I'll be glad to help. Lot cheaper than buying a new one.
