Some days it just does not go as planned. Well as a matter of that's most days .Been struggling all June to get a good cutting of hay up. Was hoping this would be the weekend. Last week I cut 200 bales and got a down pour that ruined them good. This week I had about 500 cut. I missed the scattered showers Thurs and Friday. Maybe this would be my week. Beautiful start to the day perfect day for baling hay. Got up there and the hay looked great!!! Perfect shape. I hook up the rake and start raking. I notice way off in the distance a black cloud. Not to worry gona miss me. As I rake I notice it start heading my way and getting closer. Almost like it noticed me hook up the rake.

I decide to just rake a few rows and bale them just in case. I mean just as soon as I hook up the baler and grease it up. I pull up to the wind row and its starts to rain. Maybe I will still get lucky and just get a few drops and can get at it in a few minutes.

Well she just opens up like pouring a bucket. Then the lightning starts. Then I notice the hail.

Oh well might as well go work on my fence. Good thing I didn't sell the round baler. I guess I need it.

Notice the last photo. 1 mile from my field. Dry as a bone.

haying sure is fun some times.

Nope no bale basket yet. Need to sell some hay 1st. Wife has sort of given up the baler running but loading my good hay is not a problem. I do that with gusto. The crap hay, well thats a whole nother kettle of fish. I hurt with every bale.

Time for the Big Dog to come out! Going to run her up there this afternoon as see if I can roll it up.
Just have to buy some thing to eat this hay now.

Got a call about the 706 for sale this morning. Kind of dont want to sell now. Looks like I am going to need her.

Kelly, why have you got the 706 for sale? I'd like to have a tractor that size for round baling and pulling my disc mower instead of my monster Oliver 1955.

I know what your problem is. Your pullling a green machine with a red machine LOL. What is that baler a 24T or maybe a 224T????

Your problem is that God is punishing you for hooking up that green thing to a red tractor! 8^) Good Luck!

Sorry to see you have hard luck with the weather. So far here in central NY we have had poor haying weather.OK for silage but not any good stretches for dry hay. Anyone thats baled any so far has got it wet at least once. I just started in on my hay , mowed some yesterday but it became overcast and humid and didnt dry at all yesterday so I tedded it this am. Hope to have it raked baled and off the lot by 6pm tomorrow as we have "guess what" 3 days of rain predicted for the first of the week.

Have the same problem here sometimes.

Last 10 acres got wet three times.

Finished baling it yesterday.

Started raining today just as I was finishing loading the last of the big rounds.

I'll take the rain now.

Gary
