Whats wrong with your Cub Cadet dealer? parts should be easy to get. Tell me what the problem with it is, maybe I can help. you can order a service manual from your dealer.

The dealer has had the Cub for 3 weeks now. Only thing I have heard is that the mechanic listened to it and the last time he heard sometjhing like this it was $800.00 to fix it. I agreed to pay $75.00 for an estimate. The sugar cane is now being harvested and I won't see any action from them for several months. A complete transaxle is $420, but I need to find out if the pump is good. Hope to go get the mower from the dealer this weekend, find a shop manual and styrike out into transmission land.

Loud grinding noise when the transmission is engaged, and no movement. Sounds like gears etc grinding against each other.

It's packed in grease and labor intensive to fix, that is why I am looking at a complete unit to repalce it with.

I worked for 3 different dealers and my dad still
works at the last place I worked. I have had a few of these apart. we had more problems with
the transaxle than with the hydro pump. They aren't very complicated if you have some mechanical ability. There are small splined couplers on the input shaft that strip out and bearings on the input shaft are a high failure area. If you dont have any luck getting a manual
from your local dealer, call Keystone power eq
at 814-234-8311 and ask for Bill. He is my dad
and he is parts manager.
