I have a 73 model with the kohler 7 hp. I have the motor off and cannot get the front mower belt/generator pulley off. I would like to know if i can get some help on how to take it off as well as what would be the easiest diesel motor to put on this tracotr.i think it would be neat. any help is appreciated. thanks.

1.) Take out both set screws.

2.) Use emory cloth to sand all the rust and crud off the crankshaft end.

3.) Spray JB Blaster in the set screw holes and on the crank.

4.) Get an air hammer with a pointed chisel and a large screwdriver.

5.) Put the chisel in the divot at the end of the crank. Pry out gently against the block with the screwdriver. Brrrt! Off it walks, no damage. I have also heard of guys using a hammer and pointed chisel and tapping on the crank end while a buddy pries out on the pulley, but the air hammer works best.

You can try this site, too, for help. We aims to please!
