My 1330 cub recently was mowing away when the motor just quit. Quick diagnosis showed me that the engine would run if the key was left in the "start" position but when the key was moved to the "run" position, it dies. I removed one of the red wires from the back of the ignition switch and it runs correctly except that the electric PTO doesn't engage the deck and the alternator doesn't charge the battery. What is it? There are so many safety switches on this thing that I don't know where to start. I have a service manual that doesn't specifically cover the 1330. It covers a 1320 so I debate whether the electrical schematic is correct. I can immediately notice several differences between my 1330 and the schematic.

I just got a Cub Cadet 1330 and it runs great when I put the key in run and use a jumper cable directly to the starter motor. I have no idea how to get the blades turning! I've tried moving the electric PTO back and forth and still nothing. Also, there is a lever on the floor that sais "Hydro Dump Valve" and one way is "Engage" and the other is "Disengage" What is that for? Also, how does the PTO work and what's it for? I believe it's for the blade but am not sure. Hope you guys can email any answers for me at Luv4Cali87@hotmail.com . This lawn mower was given to me and I think it'll be a good one if the blades will turn. Everything seems free and the deck looks pretty good. I noticed a2 wires going down under the pully close to the belt if that helps. Also, anyone know of their value or the year model? It has a 13 hp. kohler engine and has a rear bagger. Can I put a hydraulic blade on the front? I have 2 many questions so I'd better stop. Any help would be helpful. Bobby

I agree; just replace the ignition switch and you should be OK.

My first guess would be a bad igniton switch.
