looks like the pto is gone. I adjusted the air gap to specs and it worked a while, then went out again. Are these things repairable or do I have to bite the bullet and buy a new one. Anyone have a good source for clutches, used clutches or parts for them?? The ones I checked on the internet seem to run about $250.00. Thanks.

Have you tried to apply 12 volts to the electromagnet? It should hold a 1/2" X 3" bolt without falling off. If that doesn't work examine the lead wire for and broken spots, if that is ok you could tear out the old magnet wire, count the number of windings and replace it. If you have a friend who is into this sort of thing he might help you. John

I can replace parts but not too good on repairing them. Guess I'll just have to buy the unit. Don't have an electric shop nearby. Thanks again.

Thanks for the offer. I haven't taken the clutch off yet, but will try to get it off in the next couple of days. I just haven't had the time to work on it lately. thanks again.
