Were the creeper gear housings painted yellow or just left unpainted? Mine is unpainted,but it seems like they should be yellow.Thanks

They were not painted. They were a dealer installed option, and came with no paint.

I agree they were not painted. Not even the vent tube (if so equipped) or the vent was painted, nor the handle or extension.

When restoring, I like to paint the vent tube and/or vent, and also the handle extension. It just looks better on the finished machine. But I scuff the rust off the creeper casting exterior with a wire wheel on a bench grinder, then spray it with clear enamel to keep further rust from developing. Looks good, looks stock. Use a satin clear enamel if you want a duller finish.

I also have my new driveshafts zinc plated to prevent rust, since they were not painbted originally, either.
