The 782 was offered in both red and yellow and white at the same time. The red 782 was sold through IH dealers. The yellow and white ones were sold through exclusive Cub Cadet dealers. This was when Cub Cadet was owned by Cub Cadet Corp., after the sale from IH but before MTD bought the company. MTD continued the 782 design with yellow and white models called the 1806, 1811 and others through the late '80s.

Thanks Jim, I,m trying to find out the year of the yellow/white 782 that i just purchased. Do you know where I could find that info? Iv'e looked on all the sites regarding serial numbers but they only go to 1981 serial numbers ending at 700000 mine # is 721789.I,m trying to locate all the manuals for that model and find out what size decks and attachments will fit on it.Has a 42" deck on it now.
Any help will be greatly appreciated

I have 682 that is(supposedly) a 1982 model that I bought in 1990. I think that the 44" and 50" mowers were standard for these. I run a 50" now and have a like new 44" that I am selling or would like to sell. Before the 682, I had a 1650 that was full hydraulics. Wished I had changed out the drive on this and put it on the 682 as they are nearly the same and would have hydraulics on the hydrostat like the 782 is. I live in Florida.
