The engine in our 682 is all tuckered out.We snapped a rod and all the chuncks pretty much tore up the inside of the crankcase.I think the motor has pretty much had it.I don't really want to shell out a bunch of money on a new engine. Is there anyplace I could find a good used motor out
of either a 582,682,or 782? Thanks, Zac

since the kt 17 was basicly a pile of garbage to start with unless you can find a decent used series 2 moter don't waste your money , just buy the new moter , from what I've seen no one parts them out unless the moters bad

you should first checkout the crankcase, and the oil pan. If not too damaged, you can replace the rod, along with the bearing cap. You end up spending about $50.00 if not too much damage.

The best thing you can do is get a new Series II or Magnum replacement for Padgett's or that guy in Tulsa that's selling them. YOu should be able to get one for $1,200-$1,300. Drop it in, hook it up, and run it! Gadget

KT 17 a piece of junk ? first time ive ever heard that one ! you can order a small block and use your existing intake, exhuast ect. takes about 2 hours to do no need to buy a whole new engine! golly where do these people come from.
