TRANS CAN BE REPAIRED & YOU CAN GET ALL PARTS BUT FIND THE PROBLEM OR SYMTOM BEFORE I SAY MORE

Cadet Man It acts like a loose chian with slack in it,it makes a howl noise in any gear.As long as there is a load on it the tractor will run smooth.The engine runs great Thanks for writing me back and is this enough info to help you.

Ive seen this problem alot,In the trans is a two keyway shaft,On this shaft is two keys,the end of the key is D shaped.What normally happens is these keys round off just a little bit and then the trans feels like it is jumping in and out of gear and sounds like it is.An easy fix is put 2 new keys in trans.A good fix is put a 4 keyway shaft in with 4 keys.Everything assembles same way.But first check for broken gears or housings before just replacing this shaft.When these keys go bad they can really mess up the trans.good luck let me know how you made out ....later on
