I have a Cub Cadet 149 that I am having a minor mowing problem with. It has a 3-blade, 48" deck. It cuts well but not very evenly. The deck itself seems to be level but the individual blades don't appear to cut evenly across the deck. The blades are new and the blade shaft bearings are OK. Any ideas?

I had the same problem after running over a big tree root. found the center spindle mounting in the deck was tilted due to bent deck sheet metal where the bearing casting bolted on. just shimmed the casting with flat washers to get the spindle vertical again and all is well on the JD212 with 47" deck.

I had the same problem with a CC 44" deck. The deck was level side to side and front to back but the center blade tips were higher than the side ones. As a result, the grass was cut longer in the middle of the deck than on the sides. The problem was easily solved by adding or deleting correct sized friction washers under the blade(s) until the blade tips matched each other perfectly. Then double check the side to side and back to front level and you're ready to go. Now my grass looks like carpet.

Measure each blade tip to tip. Measure deck side to side and front to back. Make sure tire preassure is correct.
