i have a cub 1864 that wants to slow down to almost stop when i make a turn right or left unless i push the control leaver to full forward; this makes it hard to mow around trees. also are there a bigger hydro pump for the drive??

Ken,that was a problem with certain power steering tractors as they got more hours on. You will need to have your dealer increase the relief valve setting to the steering. It's not a big job and won't be costly. What is happening is this: When you turn the wheel to steer, the relief valve is opening and dumping your charge pump pressure. It gives priority to the steering over the hydro drive,so while the steering still works, not enough remains to permit the hydro to function properly.
I have had an 1864 do exactly what you describe;my dealer was able to install a pressure guage in the hydro to adjust the oil pressure back to spec. It has worked well ever since.
