1 gear 98-1 , 2gear there were 2 different sets 56-1 or a 16or 17 tooth 72-1 , 3 gear is 32-1 these are final drive ratios , also a cub won't take to much horse power over 25 very well rear end ,drive shaft, axles , shifting forks don't hold up well there are fix's for these problems but how much do you want to spend .I am in garden tractor pulling we put 50 hp in a cub but you spend $1000 on rear end , cluth ,& trans parts real easy. the ratios I gave you are for the internal disc brake model rear end . why don't you just narrow up a car rear or trk. rearend & build some thing from scratch

if you put to much hp through them you will break the axles faster than you can replace them.put the differential and axles(narrowed and splined) out of a ford falcon. then you will start breaking 2nd gear. I never did get that one figured out. let me know if you can fix that

there are gears avialable that are made out of better material than stock & wider than stock there are also stronger shift forks , top shafts , diffrent reduction gears , check out midwest super cub @ promotion.com/midwestsupercub . also lock the shifter in gear if it pops out of gear that can take a gear out.,
