Okay I forgot to ask....The govenor does not work and a friend built a log splitter with the same type of motor and it does not have a working govenor either. Is this a problem for these and does anyone have a schematic or know how these should work and be hooked up. It looks as though both of these untis have been tampered with since they are both bypassed and strickly run the throttle and I have to do the govenoring....Thanks again....p oh yah same as other post(1962 cub cadet, I think a 7hp Kohler)

If it is a K161 series engine I have a service Manual on that model . The problem if you dont know how to set one up by the proper adjustment procedure they will not work at all and it can do damage to the govenor assembly . If you email your address to me I will copy the pages you need to adjust or repair the the govenor on your engine My old cub cadet mower has the same engine and the govenor was loused up on it when I got it . I dont advise running it without the govenor working properly . David .

I know this is a response to a very old message regarding the cub cadet governor, but I've got the same tractor and same problem. Is there any way you can email me the governor info, if you have it?

Thanks.
