I just purchased a 1957 Ford 841 with a sherman auxilliary transmission, Elenco 4 wheel drive, and a Ford 703 loader. Can any of you guys give me information on this machine? Any thoughts on reliability, parts availability, and value? Any information you have is appreceated.

All the Ford tractor parts are avaliable. The elenco front end is worth as much as the whole tractor. The front axle is made by Dodge. I am not sure but it maybe off of a military style Power Wagon. The person who knows is Tony Jacobs. Call him at 414-668-6950 Weekends. He has parts for these front ends. I inherited my fathers 841 Workermaster. Now I will tell you something that tractor owns me nothing. Starts easy lots of power. I use it for logging. Jeff

The power is obtained by a drive shaft on the left side back to the round plate where the pto lever comes out and is chain driven into the rear end. The drive speed and tire size has to be matched up. Look in the archives for Tony Jacobs, he owns the Elenco franchise. I have a friend that has 3 restored and is in that line of work.BURT.
