You can run the engine quite safely on unleaded fuel without additives it will not be harmed. When the engine was designed there was no leaded fuel in the UK.
The tractor never had an oil pressure "sender" fitted to it, it had a pipe running from the block straight to the gauge on the dash. If you want to tap into the oil pressure point it is behind the starter, slightly below, on a raised gallery on the outside of the block, it goes into the block at an up-wards angle.

Many thanks. It light of your comments about ULP, is it fair to say to just use the specs for tuning as per the TEA20 petrol engine. ie points, plugs, thermostat etc
Any comments about performance when only running constantly on ULP. I have heard they are not as good when on straight ULP. (compression ratio!)
S/N is 144262, S138140E, Is this a 1950 model?

Allan, It was made 28th Aug 1950, You can certainly advance the timing if it is used on petrol all the time, you should remove the manifold cover so that it won't run as hot. Just what the timing should be for that I think you will have to determine by trial and error as it will also depend on the octane rating of the fuel used, just advance it until you can hear it "pinking" under load then retard it until it stops under normal load. The compression ratio on that engine was 4.8:1 and it produced 23.9 on TVO.(it was 5.77:1 on petrol engine and produced exactly same hp.) You are able to make your own TVO if you prefer, just ask me for the recipe if you want it. Points are same @.012", plugs are now L10 on petrol set to .030" I don't think you will notice any difference because it is running on petrol.You should change the thermostat.John
