Last time I used my tractor it ran fine, however
when I shut it off I jerked the throttle lever
from full to nothing rapidly.(never did that
before) the tractor shut off light turning off
the ignition. When I tried to start it a few days later, it wouldn't start. It turns over and over and gas drips from carburator but it won't
start. I get a little smoke out of exhaust.
Did I break something??? My tractor has always
started within 4 or 5 cranks... also It has a distributor and outside coil so
It is not magneto.
Thanks,
Jim

my dad is interested and he would like for you to call him at (519)882-0547. he has a 1952 international w4 and he thinks the trouble is the condenser in the points. please feel free to call him as he has restored alot of tractors.

The gas dripping tells me youve flooded it out.I do that sometimes with my 4.What I do is cut off the gas and drain the bowl.Let it sit for a couple of cups of coffee(or a couple of cold ones)and turn the gas back on and try it again.Give it full throttle when you try to start it and no choke.

Hi, Thanks for your advice. I tried it with
no result. I found the problem though. The points
were broken. So no spark. I wonder if perhaps
the points were to weak to take a rapid change in
acceleration??? The big trick was getting to
the points everything was pretty well bonded together. I'll tell you what She really pushes
snow now. Big difference in power.
Thanks again.
