I am looking for any information out there on an IH ELECTRALL generator. I was told that IH was experimenting with electrically driven implements in the late 40s/early 50s. The generator has the following information on the name plate:

3600RPM 37.5Amp Cont.
12.5KW - 208Volt 3PH 60CY

Mfg. by General Electric

My family has an electrall. We used to use it for emergency power on the farm. I will have to get some photo's posted. You other guys, lets see some pictures!

I also have the illustrated parts list.

I have an electrall! Been thinking about selling it. Heard they bring good money! Where did you get yours? How much did you pay?

Charlie,

I am looking at a 1956 ad for the IH Electrall. The picture shows a Farmall 400 with the Electrall mounted and the person is operating an electric chain saw cutting up a tree. The caption under the picture reads: "NEW! IH Electrall-A high-capacity, tractor-mounted electric generator for standby power, and use anywhere around the farm." I have seen other ads and at the Mid South Fair in Memphis they had one operating an electric powered hay baler.

There was a man about 75 miles NE of me in East Central South Dakota that had this setup(Electral). He had a 400 tractor, the electric hay baler, & there was this great big electrical cable that ran from the Electral unit on the tractor to the baler. He never did say how good it worked. Don't know if it is all still around, he died about 4-5 years ago & his relatives sold all the machinery.
