Has anyone used VanSickle paint? I'm wondering if their "Case IH Red" is a match for Farmall, or is it strictly the color used in current production?

My experience is with the JD green. To avoid an extended drying time, I used a hardner. The color was very good. Application was via spray in full-size gun. My touch-up gun didn't do as good a job, perhaps because of finer spray. Consider more thinner than recommended. Definately use a hardner.

Hello,
I too thought it was a little light in tone. In fact, I started to use it and then changed to a product sold by Tractor Supply, which I believe is made by Best Paint Company. I thought it was a darker, more IH red that I remembered. I wasn't doing a perfectionist refinish, but wanted something close.
I paid $18.99/gal. in Kansas

Kennith I use the Van Sickle all the time and I think it applies well and holds up quite well. The color, however, is slightly lighter in color than the IH 2150 Rouge.

A gallon runs around $22 in Indy and the spray cans run $2.80.

Thanks Red. I suspected it might be the lighter shade. (Prices sound good - I need to start shopping where you do) -- Ken

Thrifty farm store in Brownsburg, IN, just west of Indianapolis. This is a true farm store with stuff disorganized and a cat to pet as you walk in! :)

I finished my F-14 off last summer with Vajn Sickle. Sprayed on with Heated HVLP turbine and turned out really well....the color is very close if not exact. I don't know how it wears against sunfade since it's usually kept inside. Good Luck, Farmboy
