I did it like the I&T manual says, with a big-@ss bearing splitter and a two-jaw puller. You can barely see the puller tips.

Problem was, the end of my crankshaft was recessed and threaded, (not all of them are), nothing to put the point of the puller-shaft against, so I threaded in a bolt that stuck out beyond the pulley (which is a long sucker), and drilled a divot on the top of the bolt so the point of the puller wouldn't walk around.
Fair warning, mine was on there TIGHT, and I heated it with propane, (only heat I got) until it was too hot to touch, and then had to crank on the puller a lot harder than I thought was prudent, and it finally started moving with a loud *snap*, thought I'd broken something.
For future reference, here's how I got it back on, using a bottle jack.

Good luck.

Heavy duty puller. Some folks made there own.
Do a search here.
