This runns good up to 1/2 open then have to have choke pulled clear out and tractor does not have to be working. This is a Marvel Schubler carb. Has good full stream fuel flow, carb has been taken apart & soaked in carb cleaner and blown out. Float level is good. This has the electric solonoid shut off on the carb.and I have eliminated that and still acts the same. All help apreciated. Thanks

I'd second what rusty said. I went through that last fall. Did everything to the carb and fuel system. Still start with choke and wanted choke to run well. Ran around ok at low speed but wouldn't pull its way up a hill. Worried it was the governor. Changed pts, condenser, rotor, cap, plugs, wires, & coil. Ran like a champ. Not sure what the fix was but is suspect it was the new coil. The old never got hot or anything like they say that bad coils do but I still suspect it was the coil.

Sometimes what seems to be an apparent fuel related problem will turn out to actually be an ignition problem. Have you experimented with a different ignition coil?
