I want to use our 460 diesel on a kuhn rotary rake this summer but not enough hyd pressure to lift the one way pistons on the rake. Company says the rake needs 1800psi to lift. They said you should be able to get a kit to increase pressure but I can't find such a kit. Anyone have any experience with shimming the spring? will the tractor withstand that pressure? any input appreciated

I shimmed with two 3/8 washers and only got about 1400 psi, seems awful low to me. It is a brand new pump. everything else in pressure relief seems cherry. maybe have a weak spring. or are leaking by somewhere else

You might consider replacing the rake cylinders with a larger bore piston. I would be concerned that increasing pressure much on a 460 might put more strain on the pump and a few seals than it would stand. Have you done a pressure check on the system to be sure it is up to spec? You could have a weak pump that shimming the relief would not help. 1600 psi seems like what I remember from a 560 system. Adding 200 psi may make internal leakage more excessive with little improvement.
