I am looking for a Super A Farmall around 1950 or so, for sale. I grew up helping my grandfather on the farm and he had one that I drove constantly. I am currently in Iraq working with the US Army. If anyone has one for sale please email me and some pictures. I will be home in August 08.

You ought to tell us what part of the US you live in. I don't imagine you want to buy a Super A in Georgia if you live in Idaho..... ?

Larry,

Thank you for volunteering to put your life on the line to serve our nation.
If you're coming home soon, now is definitely the time to start looking. If not, Super As are quite common, so there really should be no urgency.

My advice to you is to keep your eyes and ears wide open, and wait for the right one to come along. I did, and I just picked up a solid 1953 Super A with a loader and several implements for a very fair price. I've been looking for about 25 years, but then again, I've only been able to afford one for the last 2-3.

Tractor shopping and hunting have a lot in common. It's the thrill of the chase, and snagging that perfect specimen.

Larry: Unless you intend to buy sight unseen, your early, Super A tractors don't hang around that long unless over priced.

If I were you, I'd set my sights on a 53 or 54 SA. There were many improvements happened between 50 and 53. In fact there were more upgrades during Super A production than in the rest of the 40 years of A, SA, SA1, 100, 130 and 140 production.
