I am rebuilding my SM carb # 50983DB. When disassembling the choke assembly, the little pin that is the friction point to hold the choke in the ON or OFF position went flying across the shop, and of course, no where to be found.

Anyone have a junk SM carb of that model that can sell me the pin?

Yes, that is the part. Didn't know it was a small steel ball, as it went flying across the shop before I saw it. Spring is there, and in good condition.

I will try the BB.

A copper Daisy BB will fit on the spring perfectly. Gunsmiths have the spring.

I think you are talking about that small spring and steel ball. I do not have any spares, but I will tell you that the vast majority of those choke detent check balls are missing and the small spring is either missing or severly rusted/stuck to the point of being totally non-functional. If you can find the parts you need, get them, but if you can't find them, don't worry about it too much. The choke control rod will keep everything in position.
