Hey CNKS, i got a copy of the ta repair adjustment. Did it tonight. Well let’s just say!!!!! No more slip!!!!

Man I must say, it was pretty easy to do. The clutch felt better right away and the ta still felt bad.

Before the ta felt hard to pull back. This time it moved sooooo oo easy that I thought for sure it was not going to work. Pulled it back and let the clutch out and it worked just fine!

So thanks for all the help guys!!!

Now that the clutch and ta is working it started to run rough and die like it’s starving for gas. It ran fine before the adjustment.... so i guess its back to the tinkering.

Anybody have any ideas? I think I have checked everything. (Well almost or it would be running good!!)

Just recently had a similiar problem with our "460" gas. I originally thought it was starving for gas (carb. problem). After doing some further checking I discovered I had a bad manifold gasket. Replaced the gasket and the tractor now runs like new.

would that be exhaust, intake, carb, or head gasket?

Glad you got it fixed. First thing to do about the fuel is to check and see if anything is blocking the outlet. You might shine a light into the fuel tank and see if you can get a wire into the outlet -- I have not tried that on a 460, it works on the letter series, though. Otherwise the fuel line, screen inside the carb fitting that the line fits into could be plugged. Or the carb could need to be overhauled. The plugged outlet can come on suddenly. My M had a piece of trash floating around in the gas, when it got into the outlet hole, it died.

thanks for the info. i will have to mess with it in the morning.

the tank and fuel bowl look pretty good. it almost feels like part fuel or part electrical. kinda like when your sprak plug wires on you car get a little moisture on them.

so far the clutch and ta seem to be working good. will have to test it more when i get it running better!

but so far i even put it in fourth and it ran pretty good until it started bogging and running rough!!! we shall see. time will tell.

but thanks again for all the help and advise!!!!
