My mechanic has given up on why my C is over heating after about 15 minutes of use. He replaced the head casket. Added a water pump and flushed the radiator....any ideas out there?

Flushing a radiator not always works,Take it to a radiator shop they can remove the top tank and rod it,if its weak you might need to recore it.

I like to use pure rain water to flush. It is cheap and sure will dissolve lime scale! It also won"t eat brass. Run for a couple days and drain while still warm and refill with more rain water. do that a few times in a month and when the drain water is clear fill with antifreeze. I just bought a 1923 Oldsmobile grain truck and the rad was clogged on it to the point it wouldn"t flow water. Had to pull it off and back flush it while it was upsidedown to get the crud out. cools like a champ now and is in the rain water cleaning process.

What temp is it running when you say hot? With the water pump it should be ok. You mite need to remove the radiator and hook a hose to the bottom outlet and back flush. I would try OLDS method of the vinegar first. You cont need a thermostat as i have instaled pumps on those engines without any problems. There isnt any way to install one as the SCs had a bigger neck for the thermostat and that radiator was taller so wont fit your tractor.

I think you may have rust & dirt around your sleeves blocking the coolant flow in the block. If what Old suggested doesn't solve the problem
you may need to pull the head, pan, pistons & sleeves to fix it. I wouldn't run if it continue's to overheat it could crack your cylinder head. Hal

not timed correctly, running lean, radiator not flowing enough water, flushing don't cut it, stuck thermostat, if it has one.

Your block may be full of rust and crude. I would drain the cooling system. Fill it with vinegar and then run it till good and warm/hot. Let it cool down and then drain it and if it has a block drain rig up a way to back flush it with a garden hose. INSTALL a thermostat funny but they will run hot with out one. It may take flushing it a few times with the vineager to get it good and clean. BTDT many times
