I was wondering if anyone has seen the last 5488 built on this very day 23 years ago... Also if anyone knows of any other important Farmall/I.H tractors are. I would like to see some in person if possibel.

From my understanding the experimental HT-340 was donated by IH to the Smithsonian back in the late 60s or early 70s. The other ones to look for are the ones used for the Nebraska Tractor Tests back in the day.

I not for sure but I seen a 50 series and 86 series with 1 hour on them at the J.I. Case or CaseIH museum in Racine in 1988 during service training. If I recall the tractors there were the ones they used to make the manuals (photos) and heard the last production tractors from each line were in storage but I don't where. At the time I think only Case Dealers and techs could see these. I have'nt been there since to the museum and don't if Case still maintains it.

Come to Columbia MO June 11-14 and there will be some rare tractors. Prototypes, one of a kind, 1st production, yeah you will enjoy it. And with fuel prices on the rise how much longer will we have National Shows? I know a lot of us are going just because we have planned and dreamed about it for a whole year and we will be there if we have to sell the farm to do it.

CNH is currently storing this tractor. Plans are to put it in a museum in the next 5 years.

I "borrowed" this from CNH in 1993 to display at the IH Collectors Red Power Roundup in Booneville, MO.

It is a very nice machine that was saved for history.
