i'm having trouble with adjusting a rebuilt carb i just got for my 1944 m, gas. what would be the initial adjustments you'd make? its starting but then being starved for gas. thanks!

In addition to what Rusty said - and especially if you used an aftermarket rebuild kit - you may want to set the float level at about 1+7/16" instead of the recommended 1+5/16". It can make a big difference with regard to flooding. Makes 'em run sweet, too. mike

If whoever rebuilt it knew what he was doing, those initial adjustments are already done according to factory specs.

Do you have a good flow of fuel from the tank? Do you by any chance have one of those in-line fuel filters installed? If so, get rid of it.

There are only two adjustments which could effect it. The idle air adjustment screw should be gently turned in until it seats, and then turned 1 1/2 turns out. The high speed idle, or load adjustment screw, should gently turned in until it seats, and then turned a full three turns out.
