I've had this 350 for 6 or 7 years and it gets worked pretty good in the spring, but nothing out of the ordinary.I was running it on the road between discing jobs and it was running fine until I came down a little grade. It was in fifth gear and I just ideled her back (done this a million times).Only this time the compression did'nt hold her back too good.It only came down to about half throttle and getting on the brakes didn't help.I got done with that job and was going to the next one and it did it again. It was like it was freewheeling, but not like when the TA is engaged. In fourth gear it is fine.I also had the feeling that something wasn't quite right when it was running. It wasn't something that a person standing next to it while it was running wouldn't notice, but I've been in the seat enough to be "in tune"with the old girl.About dark it started running rough and I parked it.Any body have ideas on what it might be?Clutch, head gasket, any ideas would help.Thanks.

Is the throttle linkage tight--opens & closes the injection pump all the way? There is a small pin in the linkage up at the throttle lever which can get loose/ sheared part way. Otherwise, check the fuel filter--fuel delivery area--that can cause all sorts of trouble.

Farmerweber, My guess is the injection pump, the main reason being the not ideling done. My 350 started that once and it was the pump. Good luck Chuck

I'd start by checking the fuel filters. There are three on the 350D. The 1st one can be removed, sloshed in solvent and replaced. The 2nd is a cartridge. The 3rd one is a canister, which probably doesn't need to be replaced unless it has been a really loooong time.
