I thought I could save a little fuel and palnt corn and sorgham with my JD 7000 4RN palnter using the SH rather than the 966. Hooked up the palnter to the SH and gave it a test run. It won't raise the planter to the full up position. The 966 "bangs it full up, the Sh gets it about 2/3 up, piston about 4 inches out.and the markers work perfectly. It's a 5 inch cylinder. Fluid level checked and topped off. Is this normal?

Belly pump or live engine driven pump? A engine driven pump should pop up a full 4 row 7000 no problem. A belly pump if worren might have trouble. My dad planted corn for years with a 7000 4 row with a 53 Super H with belly pump. It would lift a full planter but you had to stop at the headlands shift to N and rev engine to lift it. Also in the hills in soft soil it would slip pretty good.

It's a Stage II, 1954, last week of production. If it won't do this job, it's going down the road!

Our Super MTA wouldn't raise our 400 cyclo planter with the fertilizer boxes loaded up.

I believe a Super H is limited to about 1000 or 1200 psi...

Just had the seed boxes 1/4 full, and the fertilizer boxes 1/8 full. Maybe I can live with dragging the seed discs in the ground on turns? Besides, it looks like a lot of weight on the drawbar. Moved the planter up to the horizontal bar from the swinging bar and the front went down a couple of inches/
