Might not go as fast, but it will pull it!

Think about putting an overrunning pto extension on it. Don't ask me how I know.....

Terry,

Mowers aren't like tillage implements in that they just don't load the tractor all that much. If it will pull it across the yard, it will pull it in the field.

I've cut thousands of acres of heavy alfalfa with a 9' swath using a H.

Hook 'er up and go. The only problem you're gonna have is that lift cylinder; gotta rig 'er for one-way use with the H.

Allan

A H should pull it just fine. My dad and uncle cut hay for years with Super H's pulling 9 ft New Holland haybines. Never had a problem and always run in third gear.

An H farmall will handle a 7' haybine just fine. Dad bought one of the first 7' machines that New Holland made. We cut enough to bale 12,000+ squares per year. The machine was traded on a 488 Haybine when the sheet metal between the sickle and the rollers wore thru. The 488 (9'cut) needs 40-45 hp in a good crop.

I don't think your H has enough horses to handle it unless the hay is extremely light.
