I have a Int #37 12 foot wheel disc ,had it for 40 years I guess. I have a question about the leveling crank. As those you you familar with it know the threaded crank goes down to and through a threaded boss with two tangs that go into the disc to raise or lower the front. Well mine seem to have the threads in the tang stripped so I welded a nut of the same size on it. Now I can only turn the crank a small amount. Not enought ot do any good. What did I do wrong?
Thank you for reading this.

The nut may have distorted when you welded it
try runing a tap through it

Does the nut pivot as the length of the threaded rod changes length?

Is that why those two tangs go thru the metal frame so it will pivot? Is it possible to tightem the bolt that goes thru the frame just ahead of the boss the rod goes thru, to tight so it can not pivot.
