Question for Tractor Vet.........

I'm finding the limitations of my IT manual. Do you happen to know what IH specifies for torque for the ring gear/differential bolts on a Super M?

Also what should the clearance be for the PTO pilot bushing and the reverse idler bushings?

Thanks.

Thanks guys for responding!

I'll mic the PTO stuff again. The reverse idler bushings are done though; little bits of metal embedded in them. Got new bushings sitting on the workbench!

New bushings sized to 1.237 to 1.238 in R idler.
0.908 to o.909 in counter shaft. Original ring gear type nuts with lock plates, 85 to 95 ft. lbs. dry threads.

Can't answer that for ya . When i am in doubt on bolt torque i use the Cat manual as they have a torque for all grades and sizes Course and fine thread. As to the clearance on the bushings can't tell ya here again don't know . Go by feel if it feels to loose then fix it . But keep in mind here that they run in 80-90W gear oil so they can be a bit on the loose side.
