I have a farmall cub and it sat for about 3 months and when I started it didn't ahave any oil pressure. This happened once before but it started to work. I was wondering if ther is a way to prime the pump. All the tubes and lines seem to be open. and the pump gears seem to be ok. Tanks Dick

Oil will drain out of the filter housing almost as fast as you pour it in with the cap bolt removed, but in the front of the housing (inside) is a small hole near the top. that leads to the oil galleries, the same as the allen head plug mentioned earlier, and is normally easier to get too. Use a pump can to fill that opening. You can even leave the cap off and watch it start pumping by spinning with the starter to make sure it has primed.
Loosing the prime from just setting is not normal. The first time you have the oil pan off, you might want to make sure the pick-up tube is tight where it attaches to the engine.

Remove the oil filter cap and fill the housing with engine oil then replace the cap. This is in addition to what Gale suggested. Hal

There is a little plug with a hole for a hex wrench located on the left side of the engine (facing the Radiator) near the rear of the engine near the clutch housing at about the level of the Valve Cover. You can remove that plug and prime the oil pump through that hole..... Gale
