Belly mower from an A on an H?

Hi, I'm a new Farmall H owner and I'm looking for implements to use with it. It doesn't have a 3pt conversion, so I want something I can pull from the drawbar or put underneath.

I found an ad for a belly mower from an A and I'm wondering if this will work on my H?

Also, does anyone know how this mower was powered? The photographs with the ad are small, but there appears to be a bunch of what looks like pulleys for V-belts. I'm not sure where I'd connect those on the H.

Thanks,

Greg

Ok, thanks a bunch. It sounds like the A's deck isn't going to work very easily under the H, so I guess I'll skip that one. I'll probably just look for a pull-behind brush hog, since the cost of new belly mowers seems to be pretty high.

Thanks,

Greg

The mower for an H WILL RUN OFF THE PTO. The mower for an A will run off the beltpulley. The mountings are not interchangeable. I have sold 6ft for the A and also the H both work fine. You will like the 6ft on the H.

The mowers generally drive off the rear pto. A pulley unit slides on the pto shaft and a big long v belt makes a turn and a twist to power the blades. I don't think there is much difference in the decks from an A to an H, other than size. A 60in deck will make an A snort pretty good in tall grass. I don't think an H would have much of a problem. All the mounting hardware would be different though. If your H has hydraulics, I would use those to lift the mower if possible. We have a mower under our A with a crank to raise and lower, sure would be nice if it was hydraulic.

I would suggest looking on the net for information for a Woods L306. Those are what you mostly find under Hs. They make rear mount mowers that work well behind Hs also. I have one under my H. The setup for the two mowers are different between an H and an A.
