I grew up with smaller Massey Fergusons and a 140 and A Farmall, but I recently bought a Cub for plowing tobacco and cultivating a garden. Everybody around here says they are weak and underpowered even for cultivating, but I pulled a 3500lb+ wagon today with mine because it was the only tractor I had free (this time of year it seems like all I do is hook up and unhook equipment) and it handled it fine. I guess 8 hp can do more than some let on.

Wes; You'd be surprised what it can do...I recently plowed my 50X100 garden (it's loam soil) to a depth of 8 inches. Then discovered that my JD 140 garden tractor with a 3' tiller got stuck...seems it high centered in the deep furrows ! Had to put the disc on the Cub and disc 'er down in order to till! Best of luck with her, they're really great little tractors ! (PS mine has "quick-tach" which really makes changing implements EASY !! Jim B.

Well with a few bucks spent and a little work ya can take a old CUB and make it into a SUPER CUB. Then tell me they are under powered.
