According to the parts manual,Cub Lowboy 1/55 to 12/58 with 6 volt starter has the same parts #, 1109603, New # 1109611 as the Farmall Cub

And Cub tractors w/ser# 224401 to 321481 and Lo-Boy w/ser# 18701 use 12V starter.HTH

Is it a starter-generator?

I have a 154 Cub Lo-boy, and it has a starter-generator.

IIRC, the 154/184/185 Lo-boys didn't use the flywheel-mounted starter anymore; they used the starter-generator similar to the Cub Cadets. NON-number series Lo-boys used the same starters as the corresponding Cubs did, though.
