Sitting in the seat on my '56 Farmall 400 there is an up and down adjustment lever on the left hand side. If you let your left hand hang down there is a big arm lever with notches. You push the lever away and adjust the up and down of the 3 point hitch apperantly. Spring loaded (when pushing it away to adjust it). What is this and what is it for/how do I use it?

I haven't had any luck figuring it out but it has something to do with the 3 point. Can't find it in the manual.

It is a draft control handle. The higher it is moved, the more implement wt. is transferred to the rear wheels. The lower, the less. It is a first attempt system on 400s ans 300s and 350s.
It is not very effective, and was replaced by far better controls, especially those on 3pt IH/Farmall, series. But it does work, just do not expect drama. JimN
