SA gasket OH set- simple question

The overhaul-gasket set I got for my Super-A included these two items.

The rubber seal is obvious- it's for the touch-control hydraulic pump, though it's odd it was included, because everything else I needed to overhaul the pump I had to get as a different gasket set, and I also needed to get a separate gasket set for the hydraulic block. This rubber seal was the sole thing included for the hydraulic system in the OH set. Go figure.

Turned out my pump uses a rubber O-ring anyway, so the seal is extra.

My question is what does the felt gasket fit? I saw no obvious place during the engine overhaul, nor have I seen a picture of a hydraulic pump that uses a felt seal.

Just wondering.

It's looking good, you will have to post some more pictures as you go. Best of luck with everything.

Ah!
Thanks Dustin.

Fer crying out loud, I never thought of the governor, which is still sitting on a shelf waiting it's turn for reinstall.

I had the governor overhauled last spring by a IH dealer, another reason I dumbed-out, because I gave it no thought to needing anything.

So it's me, not the gasket-packer! LOL

ANyway, I finished the hydraulic block and got that bolted down today.

Governor goes back on tomorrow.

And by the press in seal, I mean the rubber one in your picture. Both those in the picture are governor seals, there are no hydraulic seals in an engine overhaul Gasket Set. I sell these kits myself and have installed many of them as well.

Hope this helps

They are governor seals. The felt one goes on the lower shaft that runs to your carb shaft and the press in seal goes on the top shaft that comes from you throttle lever. If you need any more help just let me know.
