706 fasthitch problem

My fasthitch won't lower. It will only drop, maybe two inches, when the control lever is all the way down. It goes back up when I pull the lever all the way up. I've changed the hyd filter, the oil looked like a combination of honey and cream (not what I'm used to seeing in my newer machines).

Looking for some advice on what to check before I start tearing everything apart.

Thanx!

Yep , pull the top link plae off get a trouble light and look in on the right side there is a arm- lever coming up from the bottom and a arm - lever hanging down from the top the top one is suppose to be on the back side of the bottom one . Now be careful as top one is heavy spring loaded . If it keeps jumping off to the side take a flat washer and tack it to the right side of the bottom arm it's a rude and crud way of fixen but it works.

Turns out that the draft sensor adjusting bolt, spring and two washers are missing. Some where in the bottom of the hydraulic fluid or already ground to bits. Looks like everything else is as it should be. SO, I'm hoping that when I replace the bolt, spring and washers, everything will work as it should.

cb-btf Oil and filter will never cause this problem. I would take the third link plate off the back and see if the lower sensing arm has sliped past the top link.

Thanx - I'll take a look at that.
