I just overhauled the engine on my farmall M. the spark plug closest to the gas tank is looking very good. The next two are looking ok just little wet. But the one that is scaring me he most is the front piston...its a light brown chaulky colorlike its running lean. Can I make any adjustments to the carb? Is there anything i can do? I wonder if something didn't get put on right. thenk you for your help

I'll ad that plug reading is more difficult now that most fuel has far less junk in it. Deposits are far from the same today as they were. A blackish looking plug would have me lean it some, but not if it is just being idled. It needs to be worked as the others indicate. JimN

Just overhauled; Is the manifold gasket sealed? Are the valves adjusted right? Light brown should be about the right color do you have a color chart from a plug manufacturer? Are all the plug wires good? Mag/Distributer cap ok?

I agree with the rest Run It then retighten everything including manifold Valves and head , get her broke in then read it. I have a SH motor that has one plug that looks dif for some reason but she is pushing 160 pnd on all cyl and runs like a dream so I am gonna put about 20 more hours on it before I really start to worry. Since you say it has just been OH'ed, run it and WORK it, to break it in and seat the rings, THEN "read" the plugs.
