I bought a really nice priced 826 in rough condition, but every thing seems to work ok with good TA. The seller told me that the high shifter could drop out of gear. Is this a common problem when the linkage needs to be adjusted and tightened or is it a broken tooth or even worse?
What do you experienced gus think?
Thanks

Thanks Vet.
The tractor shifts very easy but the shifter seems sloopy and I´m afraid it will get into two gears. The park lock just counts the gears and dont want to get in grip. The previous owner had it stationary in a mill.

Well on the park loc the best advice i can give here is when ya get to the point of pulling the range cover off i would get the kit and install the spring loaded park loc as i do on all that i have worked on. IF the old over center one is skipping it can break a tooth off the gear and believe me ya don't want to go there.

What you will find is a lot of loose linkage and more then likely there may be a broken roller or woren shifter cam under the range transmisson cover . Ya start at the top and work your way down fixen anything that has any movement as just a little bit turns into a bunch at the transmission . Over the years i have fixed many.
